The World Trade Summary provides a quick overview of world trade.
It includes:
- The ITP Indicators, which measure how much material is physically moving around the globe as imports and exports between countries both year to date and over the most current 12 months. For our annual publications, a comparison is given versus the prior year. The Indicators are unique gauges of demand growth on a global level because, as demand increases, the volume of imports and exports also tends to increase, provided that supplies are not constrained. As demand falls, the volume of imports and exports also declines.
- Graphs of monthly volume for major exporting regions. These graphs are the earliest indicators of changing trends in key export flows.
- The Major Trade Flows Table. This table quantifies key export flows year to date and over the most current 12 months for our monthly publications, and over the prior years for our annual publications.
- World Trade Summary of Key Trends - points out the most important factors influencing global trade.
